What is the meaning of Copyright and Public Domain?

Copyright is the protection on an original object. This object can be in terms of many different types of media. Such as literary, music, artistic e.t.c Importantly a copyright cannot be on an idea which is made by a person. For instance the theme in a book where for example when a son is captured and the father goes out to save him. This cannot be copyrighted. If you copyright something you are allowed to reproduce that thing a lot of times. To copyright something, you do not need to register anything.By marking your creation with this symbol: © . It shows that you have copyrighted it. It lasts usually for 70 years or until the creator dies.
Public Domain:
This is when an item is ineligible for copyright protection, or whether the item has expired it's copyright protection.It means a object which isn't controlled by anybody. It is public property and can be utilized and copied by anyone.
